Our Team Basel N Asmar is the founder and director of 2050 Consulting Ltd, London. He worked previously as a lead consultant with Trident Consultants Ltd, and as a research associate at the University of Nottingham. He built up expertise in risk assessment, modelling and simulation, research, education, and crowd safety serving oil and gas, water and science communities. He has worked on projects in the Middle East, Africa, Western Europe and Asia for corporate clients including Shell, Hyundai, ENI, and TotalFinaElf. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, and a Dr. rer. nat. in Geoscience from Free University Berlin, Germany. He has published more than 30 articles and papers in international journals and has presented his work at international conferences and seminars worldwide. Ghassan N Asmar has experience in process design, construction, operation and maintenance in the water industry. His experience covers boreholes, water conveyance, water networks and distribution, water treatment, water disinfection, water desalination, demineralization and high purity systems, sewage treatment, industrial waste treatment. He has managed and participated in multimillion projects in Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Yemen, and PNA. He was working for Metito, the leading water treatment company in the Middle East. He performed jobs for/with World Bank, USAID, Bechtel, Parsons, Hyder, Biwater, JVA, WAJ, GCWS, Suez, USF, B&V. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Jordan. Ian Holder is an Organisational Consultant, Executive Coach and BACP Registered Psychosynthesis Counsellor. He is a founder member of 3C Partners taking coaching counselling and consulting into the workplace with emphasis on change management, cross-border dialogue and sensitive people issues in the workplace that affect the bottom line . He has been a main board director of several publicly quoted companies and is a Chartered Accountant. He also holds a BSc in Applied Sciences and has lectured and run courses and workshops. Paul A Langston is a lecturer in chemical engineering at the University of Nottingham, UK. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Surrey. He has worked for many years both in academia and for consultants in mathematical modelling undertaking projects for commercial and defence organisations. He has over 25 papers published in international journals. He specialises in computer simulation of particle and fluid flow, steady-state & dynamic process flow sheet simulations, crowd dynamics, monte-carlo models and applications of Bayes’ theorem in engineering systems. Rhys N Reed has previously worked as a consultant with companies throughout the UK and as a researcher at the University of Loughborough. He has expertise in Knowledge Representation, Ontology creation and software design. He has worked on projects as an Ontologist dealing with criminal intelligence analysis and has been responsible for the design and implementation of databases that significantly out perform conventional systems. He has recently been lecturing in vector based systems for data-intensive businesses capture and analysis, a system which is now taking hold in the financial markets. He has published articles and papers in international journals and presented his work at international conferences and seminars worldwide. Ricardo Smalling worked with the local geological survey and mining regulators in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. He has worked extensively on conducting geological evaluations primarily for non metallic mineral resources, and has expertise performing natural hazard risk assessments and surveys. Trained in the management of ground and surface water resources, soil and ground water remediation techniques, modelling of aquifer systems, creating ground water information systems. He holds a BSc in Geology, and MSc in Water Resources Management from the University of the West Indies, Mona – Jamaica. Anca-Mihaela Vais has experience in process
design and project management in the petrochemical industry. She worked
with companies as Linde and Klockner Ina on revamping, modernisation
and plant conversion projects. Holder of a Daphne Jackson Fellowship
she has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
Her expertise include process simulation and optimisation. Her research
interests are in energy efficiency and recovery. With teaching experience
in higher education she has developed modern teaching and assessing
software including simulated chemical process and control interface
for use in training and teaching. She has cross border experience in
evaluating software applications using human behaviour analysis. |
